LEANING INTO YOUR SOUL’S CALLING—FIRESIDE TALK
“Leaning into Your Soul’s Calling”—a New Year’s Eve Fireside Talk by Bonnie Bright, Ph.D., on December 31, 2020. (30 mins)
FROM SORROW TO SOUL: FINDING MEANING IN A TIME OF LOSS
This panel discussion sought to offer inspiration and guidance for holding and navigating collective crisis. Features Psychotherapist & Author, Francis Weller; Jungian Analyst & Senior Climate Scientist, Jeffrey Kiehl; Educator and Depth Psychology Alliance Director, James Newell; and Soul-Centered Coach, Coach Trainer, and Depth Alliance Founder, Bonnie Bright.
“Sorrow” comes from the old English “grief, regret, trouble, care, pain, anxiety.” 2020 has certainly brought its share of these. Best-selling writer of Care of the Soul, Thomas Moore writes, “Such a time pushes you to the edge of what is familiar and reliable, stretching your imagination.” Robert Romanyshyn, author of The Soul in Grief, suggests that “Grief, if it is endured, can restore to us a sense of the sacred and the holy.” This panel engages in discussion of how we can work through these difficult emotions and allow the soul to express its deepest meaning.

Coming Home to Your Self: Depth Psychology and Living the Symbolic Life “Humans are living stories, each imbued with an inherent message and a meaning trying to find its way into the world,” writes mythologist Michael Meade. One of the founders of depth psychology, C. G. Jung, advocated a process of coming to consciousness and greater wholeness through self-realization—a process he termed “individuation.” “How are you fulfilling your life’s task (“mission”) . . . the meaning and purpose of your existence?” he queried. “This is the question of individuation…” Read as a blog post or listen to a short 10-minute audio transcript read by Bonnie Bright PhD |
