“Although psychological inquiry can be a joy, it is unusually demanding. It asks one to be fully involved with the opus on every level. . . . the work extends well beyond the ego to reverberate in the depths of the soul.
At these deeper levels, the work truly becomes psychological, unearthing wounds and complexes that otherwise may have remained unconscious.”
—Joseph Coppin & Elizabeth Nelson, The Art of Inquiry
ABOUT SOUL-CENTERED COACHING PSYCHOLOGY

Based on tenets of Depth psychology, founded in large part by Sigmund Freud and Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung in the early 20th century; on Transpersonal psychology which emerged in the late 1960s, founded by Stanislav Grof, Abraham Maslow, and others; and on Archetypal psychology, created by contemporary Jungian, James Hillman (d. 2011), soul-centered coaching seeks to help individuals reconnect with their authentic self, overcome programming that no longer serves, and uncover their gifts and calling in his life time.
Soul-centered coaching is a term I adopted early in my practice to describe the process of guiding and mentoring anyone who is looking for personal transformation by engaging somatic, symbolic, and shamanic approaches.
3 PILLARS OF SOUL-CENTERED COACHING PSYCHOLOGY
Three fundamental aspects of soul-centered psychologies empower us to learn more about truth of who we really are—spiritual beings having a human experience.

SOMATIC
Soul-Centered Psychology is based on understanding and working with the power of a somatic approach, of being and feeling fully embodied in life

SYMBOLIC
Soul-Centered Psychology engages the symbolic perspective, based largely on the work of Carl Jung, who suggested that the psyche (or soul) speaks in images and symbols that can help guide us

SHAMANIC
As the oldest organized spiritual system in human history, shamanic practices provide powerful tools and perspectives to the Soul-Centered Coaching process to help us navigate.
ABOUT SOUL-CENTERED COACHING
The process of transpersonal Soul-Centered coaching varies from practitioner to practitioner. I gravitate toward using a technique called Open Awareness, which is the idea of entering in a slightly relaxed state where we can (both) be more open to new perspectives and Insights. In that state, we can “drop in” to an more than ordinary state of consciousness to access new insights and healing. While traditional talk therapy can sometimes serve to reinforce the stories each of us tell ourselves, soul-centered coaching makes use of experiential exercises that allow us to expand beyond our everyday limiting beliefs and open new holistic perspectives.
Typically in a given session, we will spend the first half discussing current challenges or ongoing patterns that you are looking to change, and then we will drop into an experiential exercise. Finally, we will discuss what arises from that experience and apply it to your immediate situation using archetypal and shamanic perspectives.
Transpersonal Soul-Centered Coaching is not psychotherapy, and unlike some other types of coaching, it focuses less on achieving goals and more on uncovering resources, shifting limiting beliefs, and moving beyond deep-rooted patterns in a gentle and safe way. It allows us to connect on a deep level with our soul self as we move more fully onto our path of spiritual awakening.
Transpersonal Soul-centered coaching is also based on the premise that our psyche is the ultimate healer, which can provide all the answers we need.

We often find that powerful symbols emerge that we can work with through dialogue, active imagination, dream work, creative visualization, and ritual, among others.
As a certified Archetypal Pattern Analyst® and Transformative Soul-Centered Coach, I look for the way in which archetypes—a concept developed by Jung to describe pervasive and recognizable patterns—are already at work in our lives all the time. My aim is to help each individual who is longing for transformation and a deeper sense of interconnectedness to find answers that we already hold within us in order to break free of limiting patterns and institute new creative generative processes instead.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING
”Dr Bonnie Bright guided me through a profound and liberating adventure for self-transformation. For years I felt confined to behavioral patterns that tied me down.
The process of transformation was smooth, like removing an old garment and dressing up in new clothes. In a few weeks she facilitated a perception shift that allowed me to step into a whole new attitude and make use of newly found resources.
What sets her apart from other professionals is her ethics, her authenticity, and firm belief in the power of our hidden potential. Words will never be enough to express my gratitude.
–Olga A., Virginia
”I sought out Bonnie because I was suffering from a poverty imagination. I felt a disconnection to my intuition and creative flow. My dreams were gray and boring, reflecting literal events in my life within the first session.
Bonnie led me through a process which yielded sensory-rich imagery that provided insight into my identity, values, and purpose. The vivid and provocative symbols generate become sign post for several important decisions.
If you are soul searching and looking for a way to access the treasure trove of your own psyche, I highly recommend you seize the opportunity to work with transpersonal sherpa. Dr Bonnie Bright.”
–Samantha S., California
”Bonnie is a gifted coach with a rich passion, acute insights, and disciplined intellect. Coaching sessions with her offered a huge opportunity for me to get in touch with my heart and fostered the process of my transformation and integration of my spirituality into everyday life.
While I showed up to the first online session with curiosity, I have to admit that I was somewhat skeptical about immediate outcomes, However, after my first session with Bonnie I had to ask her ”How did you do that?” The only word I could apply was ”Awe” Her soul-centered coaching created an experience throughout my body, mind, and psyche while bringing me more intrinsic transpersonal and noetic values.
I can hardly organize and articulate the profound truth that I learned and embodied from the whole process-it is almost beyond expression. The effects of her coaching will continue to be alive deep down inside me, I feel blessed and grateful that I have been able to work with her.
—Scott G., California
”Three years ago, I retired as a professor of Educational psychology and course work emphasizing curriculum design and teaching (both in-person and virtual).
Personally, I never cared much about virtual learning, even though circumstances occasionally required me to design and deliver virtual courses from time to time. I have had to rethink my dissatisfaction when I enrolled in the Soul-centered Coaching program. Dr. Bonnie Bright has done a marvelous job with curricular decisions and the actual delivery of instructions.
Really, the program meets the highest standards. I have learned a great deal from Dr. Bright in the areas of Jungian and Transpersonal psychology.
I am a secular Franciscan in the Episcopal Church and certainly believe I am learning the skills and knowledge needed to be an interfaith coach.”

“The decisive question for a man is: is he related to something infinite or not? That is the telling question of his life. Only if we know that the thing which truly matters is the infinite . can we avoid fixing our interests upon all futilities, and upon all kind of goals which are not of real importance.
Thus we demand that the world grant us recognition for qualities which we regard as personal possessions: our talent or our beauty.
The more a man lays stress on false possessions, and the less sensitivity he has for what is essential the less satisfying is his life. He feels limited because he has limited arms, and the result is envy and jealousy, if we understand and feel here in this life we already have a link with the infinite desires and attitude change.”
